Antiquing
Stain
A natural base colour resistant to U.V.,
this Antiquing Stain is ideal for
restoration of stripped furniture or use on
new reproduction furniture. It can be used
indoors as well as outdoors. It is not to be
used on wood that has been varnished, waxed,
stained or laquered.Preparation : The wood must be clean, dry and free of any
traces of oil or grease. Wear protective
gloves when applying the stain.
Application : Use under well ventilated conditions and
keep away from open flames or spark.
Shake the container well before using.
Apply the Antiquing Stain liberally to the
surface using a brush or Les Anciens
Ébénistes cotton cloth. Wipe the Antiquing
Stain evenly over the surface with the cotton
cloth before it dries to obtain an even colour
on the surface. If stain is missing from an
area, moisten the area again with the stain
and wipe to even it out. Let dry one hour at
room temperature, then lightly sand the
surface with Les Anciens Ébénistes 000 steel
wool.
Finition : To obtain a protective surface apply
shellac, varnish, laquer or wax.

Tinted Buffing Wax

Buffing Wax A mix of bees wax and
Candelilla wax, Les Ancien Ébénistes buffing
wax gives a nice lustre to wood furniture and
other wood products used indoors. It's natural
colours resist U.V., and restore the original
finish.
Préparation : Use on unfinished or waxed wood. If using
on unfinished wood, it is preferable to first
apply Les Anciens Ébénistes Wood Stain. On
dirty wood, clean with Les Anciens Ébénistes
Heavy-duty Deep Cleaner.
Application : Apply a first coat of Les Anciens Ébénistes
Buffing Wax with a cotton cloth or soft
bristle brush, then without allowing it to dry
apply a second coat. Allow it to dry for
approximately 30 minutes, then buff to a shine
with a soft cloth or, for a high gloss finish
use Les Anciens Ébénistes Polishing and
Finishing Brush.
Maintenance:To maintain the finish apply a coat of
buffing wax every 6 months.
INFO : The colour of the wax in the container
appears darker than the colour selected. But
on application it will take on the selected
colour when rubbed out.

French Polish Restorer

French Polish Restorer
Restores worn and bleached "French" polish. Polishes out
fine scratches and marks. Restores the original shine and deposits
a layer of shellac.
Application :
Wear gloves. Shake the tin prior to use. Soak a piece of
Woodworker's Polishing cotton in French polish restorer and
gradually rub onto the surface using circular movements. When the
Woodworker's Polishing cotton sticks to the surface, the shine and
depth appears. It is this generated heat that permits the varnish
and shellac contained in the French polish restorer to blend. Keep
rubbing until the cloth moves freely over the surface, then
quickly remove the Polishing cotton. Do not touch the surface
until 1 or 2 hours later. IMPORTANT : Never apply French polish
restorer with a paintbrush.

removing traces of grease left by French polish restorer.
Application :
Shake the tin prior to use. Soak a piece of Woodworker's Polishing
cotton in Mild finish cleanser and gradually rub onto the surface
using circular movements. Do not stop rubbing until the surface
has a high shine.

Heavy-duty deep cleaner
Removes accumulated dirt, old wax, stains, glass marks etc. on
waxed and varnished furniture. The Heavy-duty deep cleaner evens
out the colour and restores the original sheen, thereby avoiding
stripping. The Heavy-duty deep cleaner does not work on varnish
that is less than 40 years old. Which Heavy-duty deep cleaner
should be used? Use Light wood cleaner on light oak, beech, pine
etc. Use Fruit wood cleaner on cherry, mahogany etc. Use Dark wood
cleaner on dark oak, dark walnut etc.
Application :
Wear gloves. Shake the tin prior to use. Soak a piece of No. 00 or
000 steel wool in Heavy-duty deep cleaner. Rub along the direction
of the grain until the dirt comes off. Before the Heavy-duty deep
cleaner dries, wipe over the surface with Woodworker's Polishing
cotton. In the event of persistent stains or burns, apply the
Heavy-duty deep cleaner mixed with powder Wood lightener Les
Anciens Ebénistes. Rinse with the Heavy-duty deep cleaner alone.
Leave to dry for 30 min.

furniture. Protects wax from stains.
Preparation:
On ew wood, stain if desired using Antiquing Stain, then apply
wood sealer base coat. For retoration wook, first apply
Heavy-duty deep cleaner.
Application:
Shake the tin before and during use. Soak a pad of Woodworker's
Polishing cotton in Rapid French polish and wrap it in a cotton
cloth. Rub in gradually using circular movements until a high
shine is obtained.

Use French polish restorer.

Brass Darkening Solution
This solution is a fast acting liquid used to
antique or darken brass, copper or bronze. It will not oxidize
precious metals. It is easy to apply and causes no dimensional
change. Solution will not work on laquered or brass plated
surfaces.
Preparation: Metals must be clean and free of dirt, grease and laquer finishes. Place a small amount of solution in a small
container, enough to cover the item when it is immersed in the
solution. Use protective gloves.
Application: With plyers or some others means of holding the
metal object immerse it in the oxidizing solotion. Watch it change
colour. When the object has reached the desired colour, remove it
from the solution and rinse with water to neutralize the oxidizing
process. Wipe dry. Polish with a soft clean cloth.
